Who the partner program is for

Practitioners facing a concern often ask the people advising them the same question: what education should I do? Lawyers, defence organisations, indemnity insurers and recruiters are frequently asked to recommend a course, and often have no simple way to do so.

The partner program gives those organisations a clear, consistent route to independent education that is specific to Australian registered practitioners. It is designed for:

  • Health law firms and barristers' clerks advising practitioners through notifications, investigations, panels and tribunals.
  • Medical defence organisations and professional indemnity insurers supporting members with regulatory matters and risk education.
  • Professional associations and unions that want to offer members an education option alongside their own advice services.
  • Healthcare recruiters and locum agencies that want candidates to refresh their understanding of conduct expectations before a placement.
  • Practice consultants and compliance advisers working with clinics on advertising, records, privacy or billing.

Courses frequently used after a concern

Short descriptions of every course are available to partners on request.

How a partnership can help your clients

Partnerships are agreed individually, so the options below are a menu rather than a fixed package.

  • Course matching

We provide plain-language summaries of each course and program so you can match education to the concern your client faces, such as records, boundaries, communication or probity.

  • Member or client codes

A code your clients use at checkout, so you can see that a referral came from you and offer any agreed member benefit.

  • Bulk invoicing

Your organisation can pay for courses on behalf of clients or members and receive a single consolidated invoice.

  • Course outlines for nominations

Where education needs to be nominated to a Board or Ahpra, we supply course outlines, learning objectives and assessment details to help the practitioner prepare the nomination.

  • Completion information with consent

With the practitioner's consent, we can confirm completion directly to you. Without consent, we share nothing about an individual learner.

  • Prepared credits

Organisations that prefer to hold a pool of course credits can use a team licence and assign courses to clients by email.

What we do not do

Partners and their clients need to be able to trust that the education is independent and honestly described. So we are clear about our limits.

  • We make no promises about how a Board, Ahpra, a co-regulatory body, a panel or a tribunal will view any course. Our courses are not accredited and not approved by Ahpra or any National Board, and no course can guarantee any regulatory outcome.
  • We do not provide legal advice. Course content explains the regulatory system and professional standards in general terms. Advice about a specific matter must come from the practitioner's lawyer, defence organisation or insurer.
  • We do not decide what a client needs. Our course finder and summaries help, but the adviser and the practitioner decide what education is appropriate, and whether it needs to be nominated or approved first.
  • We do not write reflections or statements for practitioners. Our courses and tools teach practitioners how to reflect and write well; the words must be their own.

How a referral usually works

  1. You identify the concern

You and your client identify the issues the education needs to address, based on the notification, the conditions or the employer's concerns.

  2. You check the requirements

If the education is required by a condition, undertaking or decision, you confirm whether it must be nominated and approved before it starts, and any specific content or format requirements.

  3. Your client chooses and completes

The practitioner takes the course or program in their own student portal, completes the reflection points, the reflective account and the final assessment, and receives a certificate.

  4. Evidence is assembled

The practitioner keeps the certificate, their reflection and any portfolio material, and you advise on how to use it in their response or compliance reporting.

Programs partners recommend most

These programs group courses around the stages of a regulatory matter and the most common themes in notifications.

A note on independence

Practitioner Ethics is not affiliated with Ahpra, any National Board, any co-regulatory body, any defence organisation or any law firm. A partnership does not change that. We do not present partners as endorsing our content, and we do not present our content as carrying any partner endorsement. If you list our courses for your clients, please describe them the same way we do: independent education, not accredited and not approved by a regulator, with time recorded as actually spent.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a cost to become a partner?

Partnership terms are agreed individually. Contact us to discuss what would suit your organisation and your clients.

Will a Board accept your courses as part of conditions or an undertaking?

We cannot say in advance. Some restrictions require education to be nominated and approved before it starts, and the decision rests with the Board or Ahpra. We provide course outlines to help practitioners prepare a nomination.

Can we see whether our client has completed a course?

Only with the practitioner's consent. With consent, we can confirm completion to you. Otherwise the learner's record stays private.

Can we pay for several clients at once?

Yes. Partners can arrange bulk invoicing or hold a pool of course credits and assign courses to clients by email.

Do you provide advice to our clients about their matter?

No. We provide education only. Advice about a specific notification, investigation or hearing should come from the practitioner's lawyer, defence organisation or insurer.

Can recruiters use the program for candidates?

Yes. Recruiters and agencies can refer candidates to core courses on the shared Code of conduct, professionalism or profession-specific standards, using codes or credits.

Do you cover NSW and Queensland matters?

Our courses explain the co-regulatory arrangements in New South Wales and Queensland as well as the Ahpra process elsewhere. Advice on a specific NSW or Queensland matter should come from someone familiar with that system.
