How course credits work

A team licence is a prepaid pool of course credits held in your organisation's account. One credit equals one course, whatever its length. A two-hour course and a three-hour course each use one credit, so you do not need to work out hours or price bands when you assign learning.

You buy credits in tiers. The more credits you buy, the lower the price per credit. Once your credits are in the account, a manager assigns courses to staff by entering their email addresses. Each person receives an invitation, creates or signs in to their student portal account and starts the course straight away. When a credit is used, it is deducted from your pool and the course appears in that learner's portal.

Credits are valid for 12 months from purchase. That suits most annual training cycles: buy at the start of the year, assign as needs arise, and review usage before renewal.

Any course in the catalogue can be assigned. These are the courses organisations most often choose for whole teams or for targeted learning after an incident.

Team credit prices

One credit gives one learner one course of any length. Current prices per credit:

Credits boughtPrice per credit
10 to 24A$161
25 to 49A$151
50 to 99A$142
100 to 199A$132

Choosing a tier

The live table above shows the current price per credit at each tier: 10 to 24 credits, 25 to 49, 50 to 99 and 100 to 199. A few practical ways to estimate what you need:

  • One core course each. Count the registered staff you want to reach and buy that many credits, then assign a shared course such as the shared Code of conduct course or the complaints-risk course.
  • A small program per person. If you want staff to complete a pathway such as communication, consent and disclosure, multiply the number of courses in the pathway by the number of staff.
  • A reserve for incidents. Keep a few credits unassigned so a manager can respond quickly after an incident, a complaint or a supervision concern without starting a new purchase.

If you need more than 199 credits, or you only need a handful of courses for individuals, contact us. For fewer than ten courses, the automatic multi-buy discount described on the bulk-buy page may be the simpler option.

From purchase to completion

  1. Buy credits

Choose a tier, pay by card or request an invoice. If your organisation needs a purchase order number on the invoice, add it at checkout or send it to us before the invoice is issued.

  2. Assign by email

From the manager dashboard, pick a course and enter one or more staff email addresses. You can assign the same course to many people at once or different courses to different people.

  3. Staff complete at their own pace

Learners work through the course in the student portal on any device, including the reflection points, a written reflective account and the final assessment.

  4. Certificates are issued

When a learner passes the assessment, a certificate is issued in their name. They keep it for their own CPD records and portfolio.

  5. Managers see the results

The dashboard shows who has been invited, who has started and who has completed. Download a completion report whenever you need one.

What the manager dashboard gives you

Built for practice managers, educators and clinical leads who need oversight without chasing spreadsheets.

  • Credit balance

See how many credits you have bought, used and still hold, and when each batch expires.

  • Assignment by email

Invite individuals or lists of staff, resend invitations and see who has not yet accepted.

  • Progress and completion

Track each learner's status course by course, from invited to completed.

  • Completion reports

Download reports for clinical governance, accreditation evidence for your service or individual supervision files.

  • Certificates

Certificates belong to the learner and stay in their portal. Managers can see that a certificate has been issued.

  • Invoices and receipts

Download tax invoices for each purchase so finance teams can reconcile without asking.

Using credits well

Credits work best when they are tied to a clear purpose. Some approaches that work in practice:

Induction

Assign a core course on the shared Code of conduct or professionalism to every new registered staff member in their first months, alongside your own policies. It creates a common language about conduct from day one.

Annual focus areas

Pick one or two themes a year, such as records and documentation or communication and consent, informed by your complaints data and incident reviews. Assign the matching courses across the team and discuss the reflection points at a team meeting.

Targeted learning after an incident

After a complaint or incident, a focused course such as open disclosure or reducing the risk of complaints can support a learning conversation. Keep it supportive rather than punitive, and remember that education is one part of a response, not the whole of it.

Supervision and conditions

Where a staff member has conditions or undertakings, education may need to be nominated to the Board or Ahpra, and accepted, before it counts. Check the specific requirement first. Our course on complying with conditions and undertakings explains how this usually works.

Privacy and the learner's own record

Managers can see assignment and completion status for the courses they assign. A learner's written reflective account is part of their own learning record. Reflections often contain personal thoughts about difficult situations, and practitioners write more honestly when they know the content is theirs. If your organisation needs to see a reflection, for example as part of a supervision arrangement, agree that openly with the practitioner.

Each practitioner remains responsible for their own CPD records under their Board's CPD registration standard. A completion report from us supports that record; it does not replace it.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does one credit buy?

One credit gives one learner access to one course of any length, including its assessment and certificate on completion. A two-hour course and a three-hour course each use one credit.

How long do credits last?

Credits are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Unused credits expire at the end of that period, so the dashboard shows expiry dates for each batch.

Can we assign a course to someone who already has a student portal account?

Yes. Assign it to the email address they use for the portal and the course will appear in their existing account.

Can we reassign a credit if someone leaves before starting?

If a learner has not started the course, contact us and we will look at returning the credit to your pool. Once a course has been started, the credit is treated as used.

Can we pay by invoice with a purchase order?

Yes. Request an invoice at checkout and include your purchase order number, or send it to us first. Invoices are available to download from the dashboard.

Do staff get a certificate?

Yes. Each learner who passes the final assessment receives a certificate in their own name, showing the course and the estimated learning time. They record the time they actually spent.

Do the courses carry formal CPD accreditation?

No. They are not accredited and not approved by Ahpra or any National Board. Practitioners decide how a course fits their own CPD plan under their Board's standard, and doctors log them through their CPD home.

Can we buy more than 199 credits?

Yes. Contact us with your numbers and we will provide a quote for larger volumes or a multi-site arrangement.
